E-mail's not being routed

I have recently opened a new site at www.rsobb.com/mapping

Whenever users attempt to register they do not receive the verification e-mails because they are bounced back and sent to the admin e-mail on the board.

We require verification e-mails as many members of RSoBB, the hosting site, are below the age of 13 and as such we require all members to verify a valid e-mail address.

Group the above with the need for regular newsletters and we have a problem.

In PHPBB I am able to specify the smtp server for my domain, a password and the username. In PHP-Nuke I can find no such functionality.

What I need is to instruct PHP-Nuke to use my SMTP server and to use the username and password when sending mail. PHPBB does this easy, I can't understand why PHP-Nuke does not. For such a well written portal it does lack some really simple features that would make it an altogether great system to use.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Is it a necessity that you have the user activation feature? you could use something like the nsn your account tweak which allows you to bypass that and have all accounts set for admin approval.

I have used a hack to automatically activate the accounts as soon as they click the finish button and removed all references to activation e-mails. I still however require the ability to send newsletters from the site.

I have noticed although I can set an smtp address in the forum portion of nuke it causes an error when I do so. The errors relate specifically to an smtp.php file.

Any help getting just this section of the email working would be great.

Try the update pack for your version in the d/loads under fixes, I believe there are some fixes for that part of the forums.
