User Activation Error

Hi there,
When you click the activation address given in the email it comes up with:
'There is no user in the database with this information.'
Checking the _user_temp table in the MySQl database the information is there. so why is it not able to read the information and transfer it to the
_users table? I am using an Linux server so what you have written in the common problems forum is not relevant...
Any help would be greatly appreciated...
take care,
chris

So i found a post in installation 7x that gave details on placing the link on the site which worked...the email was also send via email, and when clicked didn't work!!!...
while i can opt for the link on the site, i would like to utilise the email option if pos., so if anyone knows how to sort it out i would be really greatful...
cheers

I just registered and the link you have worked fine, could you renable the email thing so we can check it. Could you also delete my account so I can register again. My username is Dashe

hiya

yes if you have made the changes in the registration form whereby the activation link is on a page in your site if they pressed that then again in the email they recived they will get that no username problem
see here http://phpnuke-uk.net/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&p=9664#9664 for a fix that wont send the activation link in the email

Hi there,
cheers for the responses...Dashe: i deleted your info from my database and reinstalled the original index.php file for the 'Your Account' module...i tested it out once again, and for some unknown reason it worked this time - the first in many attempts!! so hopefully it has somehow been sorted and this wasn't just a fluke?!...cheers for your time and help...i'll be sure to let you know if it all goes horribly wrong again...
take care,
chris
