Phishing

How many phishing emails do you get a week?

I must get a couple dozen. Mad

Anyone who doesn't know what I mean, it is where fraudsters try to disguise their mails with official bank type mails hoping you'll click the link to enter your bank details, like below.

yeah I've heard all about this....

NO bank will actually ask you to confirm your details by email, so be forewarned guys

This new one I got today dont even disgiuse the link. LMAO

But I bet people still fall for it. Rolling Eyes

I wouldn't be at all surprised lol

My paypal is registered through my gmail account, yet I get loads of
these type of phishing emails, but they all come to my yahoo! account
so I just ignore them all and just delete them.

Greetings

Part of my job is gateway control for a large utility. Phishing can total 5% of all in-coming emails. Spam by the way can total 50%. The frustration for me is having to spec and charge for capacity that is in reality unwanted. As for those who reply. My educated guess is about .5%, but this is still enough to retain their interest. Education is the only answer.

Cheers, tall Paul from Chester.

Indeed - these scammers are preying on Joe Public's ignorance and lack of knowledge on how url's and the like work.

Get these kinds of mails all the time - although I am not a customer of any of the banks / institutions the scammers claim their mail is from.

I get probably 10 to 15 a day, more often from the US telling me I have been approved for a $400,000 mortgage all I have to do is fill in my bank details.

Got the Paypal one too, as well as Bank of Ireland, Barclays.

Best one was from the Director Consumer Affairs in Ireland.
