Site Speed
I have been noticing that the site has becoming increaingly slow.
To get on the site it took me: Page Generation: 149.1 Seconds
Then 63 secs to get to the forums.
I have a broadband connection, and on my own nuke system pages are generated in 0.5 seconds most of the time.

God knows, I've never had a load speed of more than 1 sec tops. .3 secs average and I'm on 56!!!
Would have to agree with Bluefin there just took 5.2 secs last night 14 secs. Once on the homepage it flies though

Same with me. First load takes up to five seconds and then fine with sub second responses. Same as my own website. I had assumed that this was a characteristic of PHP-Nuke sites.
I am on broadband. Internet Explorer and FireFox both have similar response times.

All I can say is that being a 56k user I set the site up for my slow connection, my average load times are like
Page Generation: 0.397 Seconds
Maybe you caught it at a bad time, either that or broadband is shite LOL
The page generation time is just server side!
Maybe it would take any longer to show the page, but there must be heavy traffic on a server to result in a page generation of 149 seconds.

LMAO! Broadband is quite impressive, you'd be amazed at what it would do for you Dar I would bet it would half your internet time.
When I first got it I couldn't believe the difference it was night and day.
I'm just putting the thread up for a discussion and to see if anyone else had suffered the same.
As you can imagine when the page generation was taking that long and I spent an hour searching threads for a fix between here and another site I grew impatient and threw up my problem.

I'm not doubting broadband is better BF but when the site is taking 149 seconds to load for you and a second for me what can I say.
Just did a complete refresh here and the site had Page Generation: 0.421 Seconds and it took just over 6 seconds to reload the images.
Just nipped over to cradio
and did the same, Page Generation: 1.135 Seconds and 17 seconds to load all imagesJust did similar for me, we only have 16 graphics on the homepage although I will be losing half of that due to the fact they are garbage looking and were threw up quickly.
Must have just been a bad time as you say. I get ma coat now
