PHP-Nuke Newbie - Complete phpnuke newbie? want to ask a question before installing? or have installed and are now confused? this is the place.

How secure are CM systems?

G'day,

Should I be more frightened of Content Management Systems compared to an HTML website than facing two ugly dingos on a deserted bush track on a dark and rainy night?

The config.php file corrupts, the database becomes confused or the CMS theme takes a turn for the worse and lights out - nothing but a blank home page appears. Eeeek! That can't happen with an htm index page or at least a new one can be uploaded in a few seconds from the user's hard drive.

I like the whole concept of PHP Nuke especially, but…

Am I being a little cynical here? Browsing a few CMS forums and I can feel a few heart palpitations. How about some of you experienced CMS users setting me straight because I like what i see with Nuke.

Nuke is fantastic, as long as you install a security system (there are 3 main ones for Nuke) you should be fine. I have been using nuke for about 2 years now and have found it to be fantastic. Just make sure you make backups incase of anything happening.
