PHP-Nuke Newbie - Complete phpnuke newbie? want to ask a question before installing? or have installed and are now confused? this is the place.
Extra God account remove, how ???
I have searched and found:

But what is, where do I find: nuke_authors
Or "just" how do I remove an extra God account ?
(somebody have hacked my phpnuke it seemed)

If you can access your admin panel goto Edit Admins and delete the Admin you want.
nuke_authors is the table in the database where the authors/admins are stored. Use the function Browse to see the admins added to the database and delete it.

Can't do it that way with god Accounts BL... has to be done in the DB. Delete the row in the table that has the extra God Account name in it. You will need to use phpmyadmin (or whatever DB manipulation tool your host provides)
Smashing my head against the wall at the moment... Stupid me. Forgot you can't delete GOD accounts through the admin panel.

Just so I complete understand.
(I do not PHP, but html and javascripts)
This means that I have to install e.g. mysql, find the db i phpnuke (dl, manipulate and upload) by useing e.g phpmyadmin ???

MySQL is already installed..... otherwise the site wouldnt work.
PHPMyAdmin should be available to you in your hosting account control panel.
Either that or some other DB admin tool that will let you look at the tables.

I am new to php (phpnuke) and do NOT understand php.
PHPMyAdmin or some other DB admin tool is not to be found i "my" version af phpnuke (a site i have inherited).
This advice from [dar63] may be ok, but how do you set up another God account ?
(to use for deleting extre God accounts)
ps. not easy to look for someting, when people do NOT post a decent headline, but use: [What, How, Why ?], [Confused !] etc.

Because it isnt in Nuke - it comes with the HOSTING account

Admin - Edit Admins.... create a new one - but make sure the "name" field is "God" and give it super user access.
OR use PHPMyAdmin to create a new row in the nuke_authors table - again - making sure the "name" field is set to "God"
OR use Dar's suggestion to delete ALL the God accounts then go to your admin panel and you should get a message saying there are no Admin accounts created yet and create a fresh one from there.

as already stated - you can't from the admin section - you have to do it in the DB or use Dar's suggestion.

Who is that comment directed at?
To prevent further hacks of this nature - I would seriously suggest getting some security installed - such as Sentinel or Protector.

Sorry to Hijack this thread but i have a similar problem. i have installed a nuke for a friend and for some un beknown reason he went and changed the details for the god admin and then lost the new details. By picking my way through the above i managed to find the nuke_authors table in phpmyadmin and have tried to change the password of the god admin and even add a new one with no success. Other than being able to install nuke i am a complete noob and could really use help in sorting this. i am pretty sure i can't be too far away from the solution but the php_myadmin is really new to me and a bit daunting. i am definatley missing something here.
Any help greatly appreciated.

If all else fails just empty the nuke_authors table and then visit the admin.php of your site where you will be prompted to created the new super user account.
