PHP-Nuke Newbie
Forum module - topics in forum:
PHP-Nuke Newbie - Complete phpnuke newbie? want to ask a question before installing? or have installed and are now confused? this is the place.
Second problem - on forum
For some reason forum posts arent being formatted properly - line breaks for example are showing as < br > rather than an actual break. Any ideas?
for example :
http://www.bully-off.co.uk/phpnuke/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=2
http://phpnuke-uk.net/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&p=26050
Thanks - have downgraded to 7.6!
Hello,
I am having the same problem I believe.
When I'm a site admin, and post on forums, or post news, I get this little bar.
If you want to look at what bar I'm talking about,
http://immortalaurals.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=1
Just scroll down a bit.
However, if I'm only a Forum admin, not SiteAdmin, I don't get this bar.
Anyidea if there is an option or anything to take it off?
I have this message, do I have to update it or it doesn't have anything to do with it?

Your installation does not seem to be up to date. Updates are available for your version of phpBB, please visit http://www.phpbb.com/downloads.php to obtain the latest version.
The latest available version is phpBB 2.0.17.You are running phpBB 2.0.14. |
(Extra question, is there a guide to replacing your site logo/banner?)
Thanks a bunch!
|-|Please forgive me I'm a newbie to all this|-|
If you had read the link I posted above or read our front page regarding 7.7/8 support you wouldn't have needed to post your question.
Regards to the logo just right click it and select properties and you'll see the path where it is and where to therefore put your own.
I did read your post, but my version is 2.0.14 and your post is about 7.7/8 as you say.
The solution you posted was to downgrade to an earlier version from 7.7/8, but if my version is 2~ then how is that possible?
I'm sure I'm missing something

Thanks, I think I got it hehe.
I have another question if you have the time to answer, next to the logo there are a couple of option, Search, Home, Your Account etc.
Any idea if it's possible to disable them?

He means the PHP-Nuke version, not phpBB

Correct.
If you continue to use your current nuke version we don't support it, sorry.
If you want support dump it and install 7.6.
Thanks guys.
I just figured it out
Just downloaded the fullversion 7.6. Unziped it, now going to upload it into public_html. Then I'm hoping it will work. It takes soo long to upload that, and it's only 11MBs approx.
Thanks again.
Sorry guys 1 quick questions ><
When I want to downgrade from 7.8/7.7 to 7.6 it says that I will need 7.6 Files. I downloaded these, but where am I suposed to upload them and where do I start the downgrade file from?
Thank you.
Well you upload them to your webspace.
Delete the old ones and upload the the 7.6 ones to where they were.
Just out of curiousity, if this was a new site why are you even bothering attempting a downgrade? why not just do a fresh 7.6 install??

Well I tried to install a fresh copy of 7.9, but couldn't do it. As I said I'm very new to all this.
I was hoping downgrading was simpler, seems like I missunderstood the term downgrading.

I went through all this, but it is worth it. You learn a lot and you have a working version...
