Maybe someone can help me with a question on Internet Radio

I curently use Shoutcast on my website, but what ends up happening is that it keeps buffering becaue I use shoutcast server and I host it on my cable modem at home. What I would like to know is. Is there a software program which would enable me to host it on my current hosted website? I have searched all over the net but have had no luck finding anything.
Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you
Shedrock Very Happy

Are you looking at a live feed or just a steady stream?

We're working on the same thing at cupacino.com and I've found that remotely hosting mp3 files is far more efficient. You lose the live aspect of it but you're still getting your choice of music out.

Shoucast is good when you remember that the bitrate of the music needs to be equal or less than the connection of your listeners. If most of your listeners are on a 56k connection you don't want to be pushing 160 or 320 kbps mp3's. That's like having a 350 V-8 with a Yugo transmition. All you're going to get is the grinding of the gears.

You're other option is to bounce a live broadcast off a remote server. Forget about trying to find a free one anymore but I found packages for around $5 USD a month.

Hope this helps Very Happy
