BB Code error

I have a phpnuke site with phpbb integrated. Whenever people post their signatures with any kind of bbcode, it shows the code in text. Like for instance, if they try to put a picture in there using bbcode it won't show the image just the code.

The only way I have been able to fix it is to go into their account and delete something like a bracket or a letter, then put it back in and then it works just fine.

But I can't exactly do that for everyone as my community is fairly large and it would take up a lot of my spare time.

Does anyone have any suggestions and what I need to do to fix this?

Thanks.

And your phpnuke version is?

I am unsure as to what version I have running. Probably the latest one. But your query creates a conundrum, in that you're answering a question with another question.

This does not comply.

I have only to assume that you are implying a particular part of this "code" is in error if it is a certain version?

Or perhaps, you are just implying that I am stupid and have not read the forums.

I dunno'. lol.

I am not looking for a complete solution. I am simply asking for you to point me in the right direction.
Where I might look.

Throw me a bone here. Smile

Thanks.

If we knew the version then yes - it is likely that we could give a more accurate fix for you - provided of course that the version is not higher than 7.6.

To find your version - go to your phpmyadmin and look at the nuke_config table - the version is the last row in this table.

Yes, I'm asking because it's a problem on 7.7 or newer because of the wysiwyg editor which should never have been added, especially not to the forums.

So, my question again is what's your nuke version, judging by your

If that's the case we don't support it.

lol.

Ok you got me.

7.8

The wysiwyg editor is DISABLED on my site.

But, I think there is inherently something wrong with how you guys do help support here. I mean, someone has to be accountable.

I went to phpbb forums first and they said they could not help me because I was using a 3rd party program.

I go to the phpnuke site and now I have to pick a nation. None of wich happen to be in the USA.

Next, I pick a British forum, because hey, these dudes speak ENGLISH. Simple choice there.

I even went so far as to DELETE a post I thought was not in the right forum and post it here to make DAMN SURE I was in the correct area.

Now I read some crap about if I don't have a particular "version" I can piss off.

Well, hell.....

I just need SOMEONE to please tell me where to look, GENERALLY SPEAKING. I don't need you to baby sit me through everything. I just need a direction.

Let me guess....

You don't support 7.7 - 7.9 so I am sh!t out of luck. Thanks for the info.

No there isn't. It's stated quite clearly that 7.7 to 7.9 isnt supported. I and many others have received excellent support and help in these forums.

As you have found out. There is absolutely no support offered by phpnuke.org.

They have.

Alternately you could always downgrade to 7.6 using a script from nukescripts http://www.nukescripts.net/modules.php?name=Downloads&op=getit&lid=100270

So having chosen not to act on the advice given, don't come on here whinging about no support.

So there ya go, dude, direction supplied, it's up to you to follow the advice. If you choose not to, then.

Do indeed apply.

That doesnt put the Security back in place tho - which is the reason we don't support versions from 7.7 upwards.

If you want someone to be accountable - then try the "developer" - Mr Francisco Burzi - good luck getting a response out of him!!

We are not involved in the development of Nuke at all - merely users like yourself who have a lot of knowledge combined about Nuke who offer it to others of our own free will and in our own time....

My site, my rules. When someone pays me then I'll be held accountable.

Correct, this has always been their stance on ported versions.

And why is that? it's because the lazy bastard who develops and earns good money from nuke wont even support it.

As lots do, but most notice the huge red notice on our main page about our current support policy.

Yes you did a wonderful job, unfortunately you're using a piece of shit version which we don't support and we have notices all over the site saying as such.

Who told you to piss off?
