General - Got a general or non nuke problem which doesn't fit anywhere else, ask here.

Wasnt meant to be hostile - but we are not phpnuke.org are we... so why simply make the single line statement that the link on their site doesnt work?

Agreed. I guess I made an assumption there myself.

Doesn't that kind of tell you that there may well not BE a specific IDE for Nuke? What's an IDE anyway? An Editor or a test environment...? If the former then try Editpad, if the latter give EasyPHP a try.

I am sure their isn't a specific PHP Editor, which is why I asked for one to be recommended, as it must be tested locally somehow. Then again, maybe not. I have just download EditPad (as one of about 15 apps I want to try). I will try EasyPHP. Thank you.

Up to you... don't see my comment being sarcastic though - it was sincere - we aren't phpnuke.org and are merely users of Nuke who know a bit about how it works.. we (generally) aint programmers or developers, so telling us with the one liner that a link on a different site doesnt work is like telling the easter bunny that Santa's sleigh had broken down.....

Agreed. I should have clarified my point better, but didn't think I needed to. It was a foolish assumption on my part, I must admit.

Don't take THIS the wrong way - don't tell the admins here how to run the site.

That was the same kind of comment that annoyed me at the beginning. It was a common sense thing that most people are aware of. It's easier to just say nothing than it is to say something horrible. Maybe this isn't the case for you, I don't know, but you appeared to be one of 'those' admins, who just love to push people around for fun, because they know they can ban a user at will. The power! Very Happy

It isnt a case of not wanting to help - would I be here helping admin this site if I didnt want to help?

See the reason above.

Thanks for taking the time to clear that up. I do appreciate it. Maybe I got the wrong end of the stick, I am not sure. One thing is for sure though, you can never be too sure what people mean when they write something. It's not the same as saying something in person. I don't know you, so I had no way of knowing whether or not you were being high and mighty, or just sarcastic. Either way, it doesn't matter now. Thanks for your help, a donation will follow.

Another thing I wanted to ask, was how much it costs to host this site. I know that there is a problem with paying for it, so I wanted to suggest that the owner takes a look at www.phpwebhosting.com. It's VERY good, I have used them myself for almost a year. It's one price, and unlimited space and website traffic. They really do, do everything they say they do. None of it is hype. There are just a few simple rules to follow, but it should be ideal for this website. Very Happy

Best wishes.

OK... you might need to be calmer then

I tell you what

try www.phpnuke.org

they are great!

HAHA! You are right. Maybe I should have from the start. The only reason I came to this one, was because it said UK and Ireland. lol

You do come across as TROLL like to those that have 'been around'

If you are one then your life is short on here..

If not then learn how to temper your posts..

The following picture by the poster below me seems very fitting....

Finding a PHP Editor is not the problem. I must have at least 50 of them now. It's finding one that will allow me to view and debug my website locally, before uploading it that's the problem.

why not have a test site then?

Why fiddle with your 'real' site?

THAT post made by the mad blond woman about phpnuke.org however, WAS sarcasm.... Twisted Evil

Once again. I am always calm. I just don't have much of a problem saying what I feel, if it feels like the other person doesn't have a problem with that either.

It's gotten me into a bit of trouble in the past with pushy admins, but I always stay polite. I think that without a voicemail message, there is no way to know for sure what is meant.

You are correct, but unfortunately, all the free ones I know, are either too slow, or cap your bandwidth and have shoddy security.

By testing it locally, it's superfast. Well, depending on the age of my Windows installation...

EasyPHP - a local install of Apache, PHP, MySQL, PHPMyAdmin

Take a look. No file archives, no p*rn, no using it for illegal purposes. The basic stuff I guess. They start you off with 500MB, and then give you more after they check to confirm that you are not doing anything that is hogging too many resources, or that's illegal.

Everything you may need to know is here.

hmmm your website doesnt have ANY ref to phpnuke!!

Shocked

Thanks.

I have already download and installed xampp by Apache Friends. It's very good, but I couldn't even get as far as logging in. When I clicked the login button, it told me that I wasn't a member, even though my info was in the mysql database (from downloaded from my website).

All of the other pages worked though, and I could login as admin.

Wierd... It must be something I am doing wrong, but it beats me.

It's got to be downgraded. I am using 7.8, and although I can use the forums, everyone else gets some wierd code.

As for there not being any mention of PHP-Nuke on there. No idea. Should be fixed when I reinstall.

Anyway. How do you know where my site is? I am certain I didn't publish it. I can't even seem to get google to add it to their crawler...
