General - Got a general or non nuke problem which doesn't fit anywhere else, ask here.

PHP Nuke development.

Hi everyone. I am not sure where best to ask my question, but I have been trying to find an answer using Google, on and off for months now to no avail...

Can anyone recommend a good (preferably free) IDE where I can use the whole of PHP-Nuke as a project/workspace, so that I can add more code/modules and debug it? I have tried quite a few, but they all appear to need code modifications to the include() statements or else it can't find them.

At present I use ConTEXT editor, which is fantastic, but it's a bit of a nightmare debugging my code and I then have to find a needle in a haystack when I upload the module/page to the server only to find I have missed a semi-colon, or something similar, which brings everything to a halt.

Thanks in advance.

Daz

The link on the phpnuke.org site doesn't work Sad

So? Why you telling US that?

Try some of the other links that the Google search returns... Rolling Eyes

Thank you for your hostility...

First of all, I asked if anyone could 'recommend' and IDE for me to use. For that I was given a google search term, which only yielded a single result which was useful, but the link to that didn't work.

By saying that the link didn't work, I was hoping that someone would have been kind enough to either recommend another IDE, or the location where I can find it. As I stated in my first post, I have been searching on and off for months now to no avail. Do you really think that MORE google searching might help?

Either I am missing something here, or maybe you didn't read my original post properly, which I thought that I had originally written well enough to explain my position. I was contemplating making a donation for the cause of this site, but I am sorry to say that you sarcastic comment may have changed my mind.

Don't take this the wrong way, but if you are going to help, than help, if you don't want to, then don't. I spend a lot of my time helping other people believe it or not, as well as being helped, so I know how quickly people jump the gun and think that someone is asking for help because they are either too lazy or idle to find it themselves. I promise you that in my case, this simply isn't true.

Best wishes.

And HE is hostile!!!??

Sheesh.. take some evening primrose and learn how to google search!!

There is no need for this to be escalating the way it is.

Dirk appears to have made some assumptions about me, and I simply cleared them up and tried to clarify my position as I either didn't make it clear enough, or Dirk originally missed something. My reaction was not meant to be hostile, although I was a little annoyed at the manner in which I was relpied to.

My google search capabilites are fine thanks, but I have found no results, hence why I asked here.

If you can't help, that's fine, all you had to do is say.

As you clearly don't want to help, don't worry about it. Thanks anyway.

not all nuke sites are owned by the same person.... so telling us about another nuke site is pointless is what he meant.

Im sorry, most people who use NUKE know that.. I guess some dont.

As for assumtions... eh?

You've written an essay... 3 times... he just gave you guidance..

this is a VOLUNTARY help site... we can only do what you can do ...

this isnt an IDE site.. its a NUKE site.. if we dont know the answer we simply advise you to do what we would.. which is GOOGLE...

You had the hissy fit.. not us!

Wink

Wasnt meant to be hostile - but we are not phpnuke.org are we... so why simply make the single line statement that the link on their site doesnt work?

Doesn't that kind of tell you that there may well not BE a specific IDE for Nuke? What's an IDE anyway? An Editor or a test environment...? If the former then try Editpad, if the latter give EasyPHP a try.

Up to you... don't see my comment being sarcastic though - it was sincere - we aren't phpnuke.org and are merely users of Nuke who know a bit about how it works.. we (generally) aint programmers or developers, so telling us with the one liner that a link on a different site doesnt work is like telling the easter bunny that Santa's sleigh had broken down.....

Don't take THIS the wrong way - don't tell the admins here how to run the site.

It isnt a case of not wanting to help - would I be here helping admin this site if I didnt want to help?

And what exactly in my initial post indicates that I made any assumptions?

Hissy fit?? Hehe. I assure you I am sitting here quite calmly. And as for the essays, it's the only way to convey the information I thought would help you, to help me. Evidently it still wasn't enough information.

As I mentioned in my second post:
By saying that the link didn't work, I was hoping that someone would have been kind enough to either recommend another IDE, or the location where I can find it. As I stated in my first post, I have been searching on and off for months now to no avail.

I would have thought this would have cleared it up, but I still got flamed.

OK... you might need to be calmer then

I tell you what

try www.phpnuke.org

they are great!

As previously told - refine your Google search capabilities.....

http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&rls=GGLD,GGLD:2004-35,GGLD:en&q=php+IDE

The Url Above Wrote: :
Results 1 - 50 of about 45,700,000 for php IDE. (0.28 seconds)

The following picture by the poster below me seems very fitting....
