He is targeting NUKE sites..... and whatever he has done has caused one of the sites he hacked to be suspended by the people who I resell for.... mass spamming using the domain it seems.
Ive posted about it on Raven and am now about to delete the whole of the hacked site and hope my back up files arent too old and re-install it all.
As it seems to all be NUKE that is attacked I am presuming 'he' has some way of searching for a 777 permisioned file and access via that... so I will make sure I have no 777 files or any software that requires 777.
This is SUCH a pain!!!!
how secure are your sites, voh? just wondering if he knows or has worked out how to get around recent patches and security updates to the cms.

I've just been woken up to be told another Nuke site I host has been hacked...
I have replaced the index.php file and I can STILL see his blessed hacked notice... my brain is too tired to think after a heavy night shift last night and I'm supposed to be on shift again at 8am!!

How the buggery is he accessing my FTP? I changed the password and username yesterday!
OK have now password protected my Forum admin folder as apparently this has been shown to be an issue where hackers can gain access....

has just been defaced.i'm at work now, so i can't do anything just yet. haven't backed-up the db for a couple of [cough]weeks. the site hadn't been defaced before, so i will run through the usual checks for bits and bobs and also look at the other things voh mentioned in this thread.
they have replaced the index page with their own, so i'm not sure how much work i'll need to do. it's a one-click-install, so i'm stuck with that version, although i had considered bringing it back to 7.6 if hacking/defacing was an issue - it's been online a year and this is the first attack, but 7.6 sounds like it's on the way. all i need is the time.

it looked like a hack, but they had just defaced it. looks like i'll just add the chatserv patch and see what happens.
