Forum Does Not Show after a user logs in
I run a small gaming community site using PHP-Nuke Version: 7.4, the site has not had any new modules or blocks added for some time, in fact I cannot recall doing anything add-on wise this year.
About 2 months ago a user said he cannot see the forums, so I asked him to try all the usual things and finally got him to send me his login and pwd, for me to try and the site owner from a PC of mine I know is fine.
Now if i try and view the forums before logging in they can be viewed and many of the sections cannot be replied to as they need a registered login to do so. All looks fine at this point.
Now when I logged in as this user all appears fine and he See's his account page, but when the forums are chosen the module doesn't show anything at all i mean empty. No info whatsoever.
I thought this as maybe a corrupt user account, and got him to create a new user account whilst i tried to find a reason as to whats happening. As he was the only user reporting this issue he hasn't been a priority for me to sort. Now this week another user has reported the exact same issue and again I login as them and can see the same thing is occurring here too.
I do not know where to start looking and do not have amazing MySQL or PHP skills. Is this a corruption in the DB somewhere and is going to progressively get worse to more users.?
Anyone with any suggestions as to a line of enquirey would be most appreciated.
Many Thanks.
More than likely a corrupt cookie or internet cache.
Get them to delete their cookies and temp internet files, close the browser and retry.
nope that is one of the usual things i got them to try, and it also happend on my PC when I log in as them, yet my login is fine.
So his new account works fine?
A Few of my members are having the same problem - and done the mentioned but still with no avail also.
yup new account works ok, but of course this doesnt have any history, number of posts etc.etc
Even if i use his login account and test logging in from my pc i get his problem, so it appears account specific.
Any idea's anyone.?
It's definately strange
If you want to pm me your control panel info I could go check out the user table in the database and see if it all looks ok.
