[SOLVED] Nuke_Users_Temp to Nuke_Users

Hi guys

I have read through your forums, and I can see that this problem comes up a lot. I have read through the various posts that I could find, and although I've now go the email registration working, I'm having problems with the user accounts moving to Nuke_Users once they have 'successfully' activated their account.

The registration email gets received and when clicked it tells you that the account has been activated, however the user account doesn't get moved over to the Nuke_Users table.

I'm using nuke 7.6 (patched)
MySQL 5.x
Apache 2.0.59

website address: http://www.knightsofhonorclan.com/

It's literally only been put up, and this is the first hurdle.

I have changed the URL in Preferences to http://www.knightsofhonorclan.com as per another post, and it's still not working, although that did fix the email issue.

I have dropped and recreated the Nuke_Users table, as per another suggestion, and that didn't fix the problem either.

I have checked all MySQL permissions, and the user has all permissions on the database, and also the settings in config.php are correct.

I've been working on this problem for over a day, and my question has been ignored on other sites. If someone would be kind enough to help me I would be most grateful.

Many thanks in advance

Mal.

The version of MySQL MAY be the culprit - what version of PHP is running on the server?

Hi Dirk

Thanks for the quick reply.

I will give you the exact versions of everything, so that you know what the setup is.

MySQL - 5.0
Apache - 2.0.59
PHP - 5.1.6
Nuke - PHP-Nuke-7.6.0.3.2c (apparently fully patched)

I appreciate your help!

Mal

Maybe it's something to do with the hack you've used so that users can activate on the final page of registration.

Try removing the hack and using the normal files/method and see if it cures your issue.

Look in your phpmyadmin... Browse the nuke_users table... what is the user id number next to the first member?

or what Dar said.... lol

Hi Guys

Thanks again for taking the time to reply.

I have read that post, Dirk, but I'm not sure if I'm having the same issue.

The first (and only) user in Nuke_Users table is Anonymous and the ID for that user is 1. In Table Operations (as per your link) the auto-increment is set to 2 (which I take it is the next available number?

Collation is set to latin1_swedish_ci - is that correct? I have no idea what that is.

dar63 - Thank you for your input also. I have removed the hack, but account activation, whilst successful, still doesn't move the user to the Nuke_Users table.

Thanks, and I look forward to any other ideas you may have.

Mal.

P.s I am happy to give an Admin my PHPAdmin login information if that would help to get to the bottom of the issue, although I know you're all very busy. If you need any more information, please don't hesitate to ask.

Sorry to bump, but does anyone have any ideas?

I'm stuck with this one problem and it's holding back my site development.

Thanks in advance!
Mal

Try downgrading your version of PHP - was a time when Nuke didn't like PHP5

Thanks Dirk, I'll give that a try.

Mal.

Hi

I found out that the issue was with MySQL 5.0 (as Dirk suggested early on). I removed MySQL and installed the previous version, and the site worked perfectly. In order to double check, I re-installed 5.0 again and the site was once again broken.

Just wanted to post the resolution in case anyone else has this problem.

Thanks Dirk and the others for your assistance.

Mal.
