PHP-Nuke Security - Been hacked? or have a question about securing your site, here's the place.

Is NukeSentinel enough on it's own?

Hi All

Thanks to Darren, my Sentinel installation is now working a treat. Cheers Dar.

I was wondering if, now that Sentinel is in, there are any other modules that should be added?

I know that there's "protector" and "admin secure", but I wondered if they were needed if you have Sentinel, and whether there are any conflict issues to worry about. I read somewhere a couple of weeks back about protector locking admins out, which is why I wanted to get Sentinel working first, and then worry about other bits and pieces. Having spent the last few weeks of my life putting a site together, I'm going to do everything in my power to keep the little script kiddies out in the cold Laughing

So, what's your recommended security setup for any Nuke site?

Thanks guys
Mal

To do what exactly?

Nope - they perform the same functions. I was one of the initial testers of Protector a long time ago - a very good product in the initial setup - however I believe the development of it ceased for a time and um no longer sure what stage it is at or how much protection it offers. Sentinel would be my protection of choice.

Thanks Dirk Very Happy

I was just wondering if Sentinel handled certain things, and other products like Protector and the Admin Secure handled other things. So, with that in mind, I'll just stick with Sentinel on it's own.

Thanks for the help!
Mal
