OK shoot me!
I've been too busy caring for mum to sort my forums properly. Now the hosts have upgraded their php from I believe 4 to 5 and the nuke site is a mess. On 4 there is no Admin area of the forums and on 5 there is no Approve Membership module.
I never sorted my upgrades to 7.6 and my phpBB upgrades, so with mum in respite for 3 weeks from next Saturday, I guess I should upgrade and try to sort things out.
And before you ask - mum is still at home calling out every 30 seconds and currently while I'm down with a bug, she's shouting and calling out all night too! *sports red non-vampire eyes*
I'm going to do the upgrade now on a backed up copy of the site and see what happens. If it's rubbish I'm sure I'll be back to call for help.

Tried that doesn't work!

Dunno what I'm doing wrong!
Hello, remembered you old login then?
Anyway, what do you mean by a mess?
Cant see why a php upgrade would make a huge amount of difference, maybe some but nothing extreme.
Host dicked around with PHP versions...
Yep Dirk they sorted it out now - thankfully.

By mess I mean I can't quite remember how to up grade and stuff. I have all the files but I don't remember how to add the SQL. Also, I'm not sure if I am just supposed to upgrade from the upgrade file? Perhaps its my bug and muzzy head but I am stuck.
I also want to do two things - I want to get a YouTube block on the front page and be able to add youtube videos to the news stories and in the forums.
Please see here for type of YouTube block I'm after - bluggy barstewards.

I've not forgotten - just got loads on my case looking after mum. She has got quite a lot worse now. Dementia is a very cruel illness and although she remembers me most of the time, she just keeps shouting out for me. Plus damn care workers coming in 4 times a day. Just never seem to get on! I've neglected stuff and with 3 weeks respite coming up tis time to get back into my phping.
OH OK I found out how to properly embed it now - talk about thick!
Can't make those tiny boxes though - guess I'll have to make the blocks by hand? Not quite sure how but I'll give it a go!
OK back to my upgrade mess - Well the instructions talk of calling files from the browser to upgrade from 7.1 to 7.2 and 7.2 to 7.3, etc but when I call them I get the funny Nuke page telling me the file isn't there. I upgraded most of the files I needed to leaving out the images ones and the site didn't work.
And now you've all gone away and I'm stucked!

How do you call the files?
They need to be called like yoursite.com/upgrade71-72.php
I'm getting there - I am with head cold - blonde moment abound!

OK did the upgrades but 7.4 to 7.5 changes the Admin and now I'm locked out. Will search these forums for anything if not I'll be back. Searched Karakas online but there are so many threads on Admin access denied and none seem relavent to me.
Sodding bloody thing!
No completely stuck. Why on earth doesn't that come with a warning that it could do this? And reading hundreds of threads it seems it could be anything - but not my config.phpfile - that is ok.
Too tired now - off to sleep.
Any chance of some help guys? I'm completely logged out of Admin. Tried removing and re-creating the nuke_authors table and creating a Superuser - but when I create it it doesn't go into the dbase and when I fill it in manually the admin.php page doesn't recognise it!
All I did was upgrade from the scripts and there is no-one on the internet who can, up til now, help. All my posts on forums are being ignored.
And my back up of the site is corrupted!
I am in tears.
Sorry - my knowledge is less than yours - I wimped out of upgrading from 7.0 - I am only typing this so you know you are not alone - I fully understand the array of frustrations that managing a website involves - good luck - I am rooting for you !
Hiya thanks for the support. It is nice to know someone listens! LOL Trouble is, is most phpNuke 7.x forums have not had anyone post for some years! LOL Thus you can't get an answer from an empty forum!
A guy on another forum is installing phpNuke 7.1 and doing the upgrade to try to replicate the errors.
I have a strong suspicioun the admin.php file isn't pointing to the database, but I'm not entirely sure!

Sorted out a back up I thought I didn't have, and it does the same on that. Installed the 7.1 nuke_authors table and hey guess what???
Still the same!
Poxy bloody thing!
