Navigation buttons
You know the navigation buttons on the left of this site (Home, Community, FAQ etc.,)?
Well, are they just part of a theme, a block or do I have to create them myself as applets. If someone could give me an idea as to where I start, that would be great.

Are you refering to the navigation menu? if so the original version is in the download section.

I've just downloaded it but I'm too bust at the moment trying to create a few blocks - without much success. I now have the news feed blobk working thanks to your good selves.
I must say that I'm impressed with phpNuke. I had my site up and running within 2 hours of downloading the code.
